Cabin 1 was the first cabin built and was always Grandma Grace's favorite. Sitting amongst the cedars Dale & Grace planted in the early years, it's the closest to the lake and The Post. The drying rack above the woodstove is one of their first Christmas trees, inverted to hang socks and boots that came in wet from snow and rain. The cabin does not have its own parking, but there is room for vehicles and trailers nearby at The Post. The children's play area (complete with swingset, slide, climbing dome, playhouse, teeter totter and sandbox) is right across the driveway, next to the communal fire pit and picnic area where we hold the Thursday All-Camp Potluck Fish Fry.
The cabin stays nicely shaded in the warm summer months.
The screened-in porch houses the firewood, a chest freezer for storing your catch or extra groceries, a log dining table and seating area.
